Inspiration and Appreciation: Two Weeks in Taiwan

This two-week program based in Taipei introduces American undergraduate students to Taiwanese and Chinese culture, as well as provides some exposure to the Mandarin language.

Students take classes in Chinese, local history, politics, thought and business, while participating in company visits and cultural activities and excursions. The program is hosted by the Mandarin Training Center at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). The program includes a three-day trip to Tainan in Southern Taiwan to provide a broader look at the island’s diversity.

Students are escorted to Taiwan by a full-time, expert resident director employed by American Councils who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program and ensuring participant safety and satisfaction. Additionally, participants receive overseas medical insurance for the duration of the program. Students live in an NTNU dormitory during their stay in Taipei.
